InnerTrek Services FAQ

Q: What is the first step in accessing InnerTrek's psilocybin services?

A: The first step is completing a health screening. This involves answering questions about your physical and mental health, medication use, supplements, life experiences, and habits. The goal is to ensure your safety and prepare for a beneficial psilocybin experience.

Q: Why is accurate information crucial in the health screening process?

A: Providing accurate information is vital for safety and the effectiveness of the psilocybin experience. Inaccuracies can lead to challenging, unsafe, or difficult experiences. Your facilitator will review your responses and may ask for more details to ensure a well-informed session.

Q: Who might not be eligible for psilocybin services at InnerTrek?

A: Individuals with certain conditions, such as severe mental health disorders, active drug or alcohol misuse, cardiovascular issues, severe kidney disease, or those on specific medications, may not be eligible. Pregnancy and having a close relative with specific psychiatric conditions also may disqualify you.

Contraindications include severe mental health conditions, current drug or alcohol withdrawal, certain cardiovascular and gastrointestinal conditions, neurological disorders, pregnancy, and contagious diseases like tuberculosis or COVID.

Q: What happens after the health screening?

A: If you're deemed eligible, you'll be invited to schedule an exploratory call with a member of our staff. After you’ve decided which offering to pursue, you’ll be connected with a licensed facilitator who will guide you through intake, preparation, and the psilocybin session/group/retreat.

Q: How can I prepare for my journey?

A: You will be working with your facilitator to do preparation and will discuss your unique needs to prepare for your journey. Generally it’s helpful to start integrating in meditation, journaling and self reflection practices. The process starts when you choose to step into it.

Q: What if I need more than two preparation or integration sessions?

A: In your intake call, you and your facilitator will talk about what will best serve your needs. InnerTrek supports facilitators seeing clients for additional preparation or integration sessions, and those additional sessions will be run through the facilitator’s private practice and at their private practice rates.

Q: How do I know what my dose is?

A: During your preparation sessions, you and your facilitator will collaborate to decide on your dosage based on your previous psychedelic experiences and your intentions.

Under the OHA guidelines, doses are measured in milligrams of psilocybin.

Q: What should I expect on the day of the psilocybin session?

A: On the day of your session, eat only a light breakfast. The session can last 4-8 hours, during which you'll be in a comfortable setting with music, and under the supervision of your facilitator. Snacks and water will be provided, and you'll be encouraged to focus inwardly on your experience.

Q: What is recommended for aftercare and integration post-session?

A: After the session, a quiet evening is recommended. Integration activities like journaling, art, and nature walks can be beneficial. You'll have at least two integration sessions with your facilitator to process and reflect on your experience.

Q: What are the differences between a group journey and a 1:1?

A: At InnerTrek, we specialize in groups and retreats. We find that doing this work in community with other people brings an added element of connection and magic. Many clients report that it wasn’t as scary as they thought it would be to do this work with other people, and that the new connections they made were an impactful part of their journey. In a group or retreat, facilitators are very present and attendant to the needs of all clients. Historically and traditionally, psilocybin work has primarily happened in communal spaces and we strive to work in alignment with these practices at InnerTrek.

Q: What are your upcoming group retreats?

A: You can find our upcoming group retreats here.

Q: What are InnerTrek's current psilocybin service offerings and the associated costs?

A: InnerTrek offers a variety of psilocybin experiences tailored to meet different needs, including Group Retreats, Group Services, and Individual Services. The costs for the journeys are listed on our client services page.

Q: Does the journey include the psilocybin mushrooms?

A: No, the fee you pay for the journey is for the facilitator service fee. You will need to pay for psilocybin separately on the day of your journey and that is paid in cash. You will have determined the amount of milligrams of psilocybin for your initial dosage and for your booster with your facilitator. Mushrooms cost $4/mg + 15% Oregon state tax.

Q: Does InnerTrek offer any financial assistance for those interested in services?

A: Yes, InnerTrek is committed to accessibility and offers fee reductions and scholarships based on income limitations and the availability of organizational or philanthropic support. This effort is to ensure that more individuals can access psilocybin services regardless of their financial situation. We partner with the Sheri Eckert Foundation to help to provide financial support for psilocybin services. We recommend applying to their Psilocybin Access Fund.

Q: I don’t need an exploratory call, I am ready to go, what do I do next?

A: If you have cleared the health screener and you don’t have any more questions and feel that you don’t want the optional exploratory call to meet with someone from our team, you can simply write to us at hello@innertrek.org. In this email, please tell us what kind of service you would like (retreat, group or individual). If you are signing up for an individual session, please include your top three facilitator preferences. If you are signing up for a group or retreat, please include the date of the offering you’d like to attend.

Q: Who is part of the InnerTrek Facilitator Network?

A: You can view our facilitator network of those who do group as well as 1:1 journey work here.

Q: What happens if I don’t vibe with my facilitator?

A: During your intake and preparation calls, you and your facilitator will talk about if this feels like the right fit. At any point before your journey days, you are encouraged to express your feelings about best fit. If you would like to switch to a different facilitator, we welcome that transition and will work with you to find someone else who feels more aligned with your needs.

Q: What is your cancellation and refund policy?

A: You can learn more about our policy, here.

Q: Got a question we didn’t answer?
